  • How do comets affect human life?
  • Great Site! As a fellow student of physics, I do not see how one can deny the influence of gravity and electromagnetic forces on our lives (and thoughts). As to 'how' the effect works, well the answer is: 'it's complicated'. Free Will - I like your opinions. I can't answer either. Obviously certain things we have no control over. We don't pick our parents, where we are born or the weather. Scientific prediction is difficult. For example, how accurate is weather prediction? However, if we can make strides to better knowing how the cosmos affects us, (since it obviously does) then why not? (at least knowing the odds or risks helps in decision making). To ignore the 'science of astrology' we do at our own peril. (Just like an ancient farmer planting his crops in the fall). It's not widely publicized, but the founding fathers of the United States were took Astrology seriously when they architected Washington D.C. Kids are often asked 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'. Most today, I think, have no clue. Does one do exactly what their parents did? I think consulting an astrologer should be required for all kids pondering this question. Conception - The current charts focus most on birth. But with our modern knowledge of DNA, do the charts need to be revised to take in account the time of conception? I've observed a division of opinions here. I feel if one sees astrology as more of a science than a religion, then the time of conception would carry a larger weight than the time of birth. I'd be glad to hear your opinions. Thanks. Bill

How do comets affect human life?
Comets affect human life the same way any celestial body does. Comet has its gravity, therefore it produces gravitational waves, which cause oscillation of the charged particles in our bodies. So we 'feel' it just like we feel the Mars's waves. The difference between planetary influence and comet influence is magnitude and consistency of this influence. Comet is a tiny thing comparing to any solar system planet. It's mass and gravity equals a fraction of a mass and gravity of a smallest planet. So the physical influence is going to be like a mosquito bite comparing to a root canal surgery. Also planets have regular orbits, they are always there for us to get used to their daily, monthly, yearly, etc. routine, while comets are rare phenomena, they come and go. That is why not many astrologers pay attention to comet influence. Although there are a few researchers who collect data about comet and asteroids influence. We will probably see some good books with astrological interpretation of comet and asteroid affect in the nearest future.

Great comments and question, Bill, thank you. As far as the chart of conception versa the chart of Birth go, its really simple. It's all in a technique. Consider casting a chart (Conception, Birth, First day at School, Horary, Marriage, Relocation, Solar Return, etc.) a technique. If we want to find out things about a person's life, we first narrow down a few specific question we want to know, based on them we choose a technique. Sometimes we try several techniques for one question - they all give the same answer, just lighting the situation from different angles.

In other words, Yes, we could read the conception charts and get the same results as reading the Birth chart, the difference would be in the interpretation technique, and it would add some interesting details that have to do with the actual spiritual aspect of conception.
The problem here is that it's virtually impossible to calculate the Conception Chart directly the way we do Birth Chart, since no one really knows the moment of their conception (the day, hour), therefore some astrologers, who pay close attention to such charts, compute them using the hermetic rule retrogressively from the birth chart.

The Conception Charts are not popular among practicing astrologers because of these complications. Besides, The Birth Chart, Solar Return, Horary Chart and other popular techniques cover 99% of client's needs, so the Conception Chart study is more of a scientific research rather then a practical technique.

Maybe in the near future, while on the spiritual growth path, our curiosity will push us to learn more about the process of soul incarnation and conception, we'll get more active working with Conception Chart.
